A few cuts with this saw and you'll know why the Japanese are reknowned for their sawmaking ability.
For starters, it cuts on the pull stroke which keeps the blade under tension while cutting and eliminates binding and flexing. Not only does this make for smoother cutting, it keeps the cut at the desired width without allowing it to become oversized.
If you've ever used a stamped tooth fret saw you can attest to how quickly they become dull in Ebony and other hard woods used for fretboards. Take a look at the enlarged image of this A grade Japanese fret saw compared to a stamped saw.
The teeth are ground to a precise, multiple angle cutting geometry and diamond honed to a razor sharp edge for an extremely free cut.
Made from hardened, high grade tool steel this saw will hold it's edge for a long time.

8" length of cut and fitted with an adjustable gauge for pre-setting the depth of cut.
